Music Institute of Bardstown provides lessons in violin, viola, cello, and piano to children and adults in central Kentucky. All of M I of B's instructors are accomplished musicians and educators. The violin, viola, and piano instructors are certified to teach music utilizing the Suzuki method. The Suzuki method is a philosophy of music education which strives to create both strong ability and strong character in students through a nurturing environment. The 'nurture' involved in the method is modeled on some of the factors present in native language acquisition, such as immersion, encouragement, small steps, and an unforced timetable for learning material based on each person's developmental readiness.
